Branch Manager

There are 900 people at Leeds Building Society. All from different backgrounds, of varying ages and all with different aspirations. Here is a profile from one of our members of staff.

Name: Richard Charlesworth

Position: Branch Manager

Location: Boston Spa Branch

Richard joined the Leeds Building Society in January 1998 and was initially based in our Mortgage Redemptions Department at Head Office. In March 1999 he moved to our Mortgage Lending Department as a processor and as part of that role was involved in various projects including the creation of our Mortgage Lending Service desk.

At the beginning of 2002 Richard decided that he wanted develop more skills in the sales field and so firstly joined our call centre which is based in Leeds City Centre. There he received full training and this gave him a taste for customer service! At the end of 2002 Richard became Assistant Manager at our Wetherby branch and at the end of 2003 he applied for and got the role of Branch Manager in our Boston Spa Branch.

Richard has really progressed his career with the Society, starting as an administrator and working his way up to Branch Manager through a variety of successful and rewarding roles along the way!. Richard says,
