There are 900 people at Leeds Building Society. All from different backgrounds, of varying ages and all with different aspirations. Here is a profile from one of our members of staff.

Name: Chris Otley Position: Mortgage Processor Location: Mortgage Lending, Leeds Head Office

Chris joined the Society in November 2003 and began his career with Leeds Building Society on the helpdesk dealing with telephone enquiries. Chris previously worked for a Roofing company and now deals with the mortgage process from start to finish. Chris uses his time management skills and communication skills to organise and liaise with valuers, solicitors, introducer customers and branches.

Chris won a Gold Award through the Excellence in Action scheme for his excellent customer services skills when he pulled out all the stops to get a customer a mortgage offer out in half a day.

Chris says:

“I am enjoying working in the mortgage lending department as I have been fully supported in my roles here having not had experience before of the financial sector. Everyone is really friendly and we pull together as a team when it gets busy to achieve our service standards. The atmosphere is friendly and you feel valued for the job you do”
